Grooming your pooch in the summer helps ease the heat making your pooch a bit more relaxed, cool, and comfortable. Summer grooming is important to relax your pooch as well as to control dog fleas & for dog flea treatment, as this is also the season of year to be watchful for fleas & ticks and grooming pets regularly is one of the best natural flea control treatments.

Bathing

Bathing (at least once a week) is necessary, especially in the summer. Your pooch may or may not agree to the idea of regular bathing, giving it an extra bath or two is good to beat the heat. Bathing also makes your dog clean which can help avert the parasites such as fleas & ticks. Remember to gently brush the pup before as well as after bathing. For bathing pick a good pet shampoo, lather it once, and rinse well. Once your pooch is dry, you can consider applying best flea control for dogs or a good dog flea medicine such as generic of Frontline Plus as Fiprofort Plus and Frontline for flea control, which you can get from GenericFrontlinePlus (www.genericfrontlineplus.com) at reasonable rates.

Combing & Brushing

Even if some dog breeds may need a professional grooming by an expert groomer, all breeds & dogs benefit from a good combing & brushing; and this don’t need you to be a pro at it. Also, regular but thorough brushing helps prevent mats that are sore and also trap heat & moisture resulting in skin infections.

Nail Trimming

Since pets love spending most of their time frolicking outside, it is essential for you to be sure that the paw nails are well trimmed as long nails may break & can cause injuries and pain.

However, do not cut off more of the nail while each trimming; doing so could lead to painful injuries. Only cut the nail tip where it is curved & starts to turn towards ground.

Consider nail trimming after the pooch’s bath as due to water nails will be a bit softer & thus easier to trim. Also, keep some yummy treats handy to reward the pooch for patience; doing so the pup won’t mind the trimming process.

Keeping your pup well-groomed and maintained, will help both of you enjoy the summer months even more.
